Celebrating a Dozen Years of Gypsy Beans!

Gypsy Beans & Bakery celebrated twelve years at their location in the Gordon Square Retail District in the Detroit Shoreway Neighborhood at the corner of West 65th and Detroit. Gypsy Beans was the first recipient of a new pilot program created by the Department of Economic Development 12 years ago to provide capital to start-up entrepreneurs. The program is titled the Neighborhood Retail  Assistance Program and went towards exterior & interior site improvements including new awnings and signage. The project helped install one of the first businesses into the Gordon Square Retail District and was the spark that ignited the development of the area. Thanks to Gypsy Bean & Bakery the Gordon Square neighborhood became a retail district where new businesses are thriving and springing up every year since fostering the continuing renovation of Detroit Avenue.  Six jobs were created from this business.

The small business is owned and operated by Nicole Gillota, and offers a variety of select coffees; pastries, muffins & desserts; and a short menu of international foods.

The Department of Economic Development congratulates Nicole Gillota for operating her small business in the City of Cleveland for the past 12 years.  We wish her continued success!
